Linotype's 1st Arabic Type Design Competition
(Submission Deadline: October 31, 2005)

Linotype Library announced its 1st Arabic Type Design Competition. Mamoun Sakkal will be one of the international jury, which is made up of renowned members of the Arabic typography, calligraphy and design fields, who will choose one winner in each category. The independent jury is responsible for distributing the prizes. All rights reserved.

The goals of the competition as announced by Linotype are:

1. Encourage the developement of Arabic typography.
2. Detect and publish new and original trends in Arabic type design.
3. Support the development of new type designs.

To these ends, the type design competition offers the winners attractive prizes as well as the chance to gain worldwide popularity through Linotype Library’s marketing activities. Linotype contests are internationally renowned and offer type designers an excellent opportunity to attract attention to their work.
